OOPS!® Customer Testimonials
This is what some of our customers have to say. . .
This is an actual Quote received from one of our OOPS! users who is running OOPS!
"We have had a serious virus in our system and our computers have been down for five days."
We find this quote especially interesting because shortly after Oz was installed at
Las Cruces, they too got a virus. . . it didn't bring down the Oz machines even though
they were connected to their NT network, but it DID bring down the rest of there machines
which were all Windows clients!
Too bad the OOPS! user quoted here never upgraded to Oz running on an eCS machine.
eCS is immune to Windows viruses! OOPS! users are still being given special pricing for Oz.
And we're finding that there are still OOPS! users running under DOS!
Many thanks to John Pelayo from the City of Las Cruces Waste Water Treatment Plant,
for the following letter:
On Friday, November 30, 2001, our plant was running OOPS! By the following Monday,
December 3, 2001, all our data was converted to Oz and we generated PM Work Orders according
to our schedule. The conversion went without a hitch and we are very satisfied with the
Oz does everything OOPS! did plus a whole lot more. It has the modern look and feel which
makes Oz even more user-friendly than OOPS!
Is your company considering SAP or a SAP-like application?
Following is a note we got from an Oz user who had used Oz for over a
year. He is from a large international company who was forced by
'corporate' to switch from Oz to SAP.
HI JOHN & GWEN,
I MUST SAY IN FEW WORDS OF UNDERSTANDING HELP,HELP,HELP. I'VE CRASHED SAP THREE TIMES
SINCE WE'VE BEEN ON THIS SYSTEM FOR A LITTLE OVER A MONTH. NEVER ONCE DID OZ FAIL ME!!!!!!
ONCE MORE I NOW KNOW WHAT SAP STANDS FOR ,BUT YOU'LL HAVE TO CALL ME TO FIND OUT WHAT
IT IS.(VULGAR? HELL YES!!)
I USED OOPS/OZ BOTH, AND MISS OZ MORE THAN MY FISHING. OZ IS THE HANDS DOWN SYSTEM TO USE
IN MY OPINION, USER FRIENDLY, PROGRAMED TEN TIMES EASIER AND FASTER.
FOR INSTANCE TO ENTER A PART NUMBER - OZ SAME SCREEN, SAP APPROX 10-15 DIFFERANT
PAGES SESSIONS, FOUR ASPRINS, SIX SHOOTS OF LIQUOR, TWO DAYS OFF TO TARGET PRATICE
WITH MY NEW RIFLE-NEED I SAY MORE!!!!!?????!!!!
We just saw an article (August, 2004) about HP and SAP. Seems HP is losing lots of money
because of their decision to use SAP. They claim, it will be better in a month. Must
be nice to have money to waste - I'm sure their stockholders must be thrilled.
We also have a note from an IT Manager where Oz is in use:
We have been using Aviar's OS/2-based Oz of Prevention since January 1999.
We have generated over 6,000 Work Orders in this time frame.
During that time, the Oz CMMS program has never crashed. We have never had to reboot
our computer as the result of a freeze, lock-up or 'Blue Screen.'. We have not used
Ctrl-Alt-Del to restart. We have not lost any data, nor wasted time rebooting.
We have not had to re-install the Operating System or Oz itself.
In our opinion, Oz has been 99.9% reliable. It is most certainly a solid product
and a good investment.

Thanks to Peter Delaney, Director of Facilities, Ansonia School District, for the
following kind words:
. . . We have evaluated the Oz CMMS system for our School District.
I believe the Oz System is a very good fit for our school maintenance program.
We feel this system is an excellent investment and will pay for itself by saving
us time and money by better organizing our resources and will enable us to set up
a preventive maintenance schedule so that we are not always doing emergency work.
It will give me the ability to better tract the work performed and provide the
school administrators with reports showing what is being done and the costs
associated with the various jobs and the equipment and parts used.
We find the Oz system to be very user-friendly while still providing the
flexibility we need. The lookup tables are especially helpful - they
save us time building our files and they help ensure consistency in our
data. (Update: Peter has moved on to another job, but Oz is still
working for Ansonia)
When Melody was transferred to another department, she
mentioned that she will be training her replacement on OOPS!. This is
what she had to say about that:
"I hate to leave OOPS!, because I have the system working perfectly,
however, it will be easy to train a new user. OOPS! is so simple to
"This . . . system not only gives us a daily inventory of chemicals and
supplies, but also gives us a low stock report, receiving log, physical
inventory worksheets, store room requisitions, and forecasting."
"On the equipment side, we now have a complete inventory, labor
history on each piece, (an excellent way to document equipment abuse),
materials and equipment used to repair the equipment."
"In my 30+ years in the business, OOPS! is the best physical
distribution program I have come across, and something that [we] should
consider for every account."
"It (OOPS!®) has become an indispensible member of our PM team.
It handles all of the scheduling, forecasting, costing, work order
generation, completion and data storage for equipment and work order
"We received the system in July and were generating meaningful PM work orders by August 1."
"During a routine PM inspection, scheduled and generated by
OOPS!, a cracked gear reducer was discovered. It was repaired and back
in service after 7 hours. Had the reducer failed, the downtime would
have been a minimum of 48 hours. The system paid for itself many times
"OOPS! is a good system, inexpensive and easy to use."
"We get an enormous amount of use out of our system. We use it
everyday for ordering all of our needed parts and supplies that are now
on inventory. The requisitions that we print (on four part paper) are
sent right to the vendors, saving time and money in purchasing and
accounting . . . Every job that we do is now recorded in our computer,
making it extremely easy to find out where . . . our money and manpower
is being utilized."
"For someone like myself, who never worked on a computer before . . .
knows better than anyone how helpful they've (OOPS!®' Tech Support)
been. The system has helped organize and upgrade our department in
every way . . . Management is very impressed . . ."
"Ounce of Preventive Maintenance has really made a difference
for the department and productivity . . . support has been great, they
are always there when I need help, which isn't very often . . . this
program is so easy to use."
"The OOPS! system is used for scheduling preventive maintenance
for all service equipment such as blowers, air compressors, water
softening systems, vacuum pumps, water pumps, hot water systems and
special test chambers . . . special work orders are generated for
'other than routine' maintenance and to document 'Special' requests
from other departments for unique equipment or services."
"Within the first ten days data was gathered and entered into the
files. This routine was easily accomplished by following the steps
outlined in the documentation . . . We were productively using OOPS!
within one month's time."
"The decision to test OOPS! proved to be the right one. The system
turned out to be quite user friendly . . . I had limited experience
with PC's and yet was able to quickly put the program to productive
use. . . .OOPS! has proven adaptable to the need of the laboratory and
the scientific personnel. The OOPS! program permits the user to stylize
different categories to meet the company's varying data needs."
"Response . . . was always very prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable."
"Over the past three months . . . reviewed sixteen different
maintenance management and inventory control software packages . . ."
"Based on our evaluation, we recommend OOPS! . . . is extremely
flexible and easy to use. . . offers an excellent 'ad-hoc' reporting
function eliminating the need for additional software to develop the
reports we need and use . . . field titles can be customized to suit
the terminology we use . . . on-screen inventory inquiry is exactly the
function we need for easy parts information retrieval . . . OOPS! can
interface with other spreadsheet or database packages if the need
arises . . ."
